Setting Up a Class

The district is able to roster classes in Savvas, but we aren't able to assign the program to your classes. Each teacher must do this themselves each year or each semester. This initial setup can be confusing because, until you set up a class, your class will be listed as an inactive class.

To set up your class and make it active in Savvas:

  1. Go to Savvas SSO from the Clever link.
  2. In Savvas, on either the Home screen or the Classes screen, click View Inactive Classes.
Savvas Realize Home tab showing the empty screen. The "View Inactive Classes" link is highlighted.
  3. Here, you'll get a list of all your classes. Notice the right-most columns have a Start Date and an End Date that make it clear they're for the current school year. You may need to scroll or expand your screen to see those columns.
  4. For the subject or class you want your book for, click the Add Program link. For example, a 4th grade teacher that needs the Mathematics materials might find their Mathematics (MA40-3) section.
The Inactive Classes button with the Add Program link highlighted.
  5. From the Program list, pick a Class Picture if you want it changed, and then scroll down to Programs and pick the book or books that you use for your classroom. For example, the teacher would select the appropriate enVision Mathematics books.
The Add Program screen showing the program selection portion.
  6. Then click Save at the very bottom or very top of the page. Again, you may need to scroll.

That should complete the setup you need to do. Now when you go back to the Home screen or Classes screen in Savvas, your class should show up on the list.
