How to setup the U: Drive and V: Drive from a Chromebook

  1. On your Chromebook, open the Files app

    Open Files App on Chromebook
     
  2. Select the vertical 3 dots that are located in the upper right corner of the window

    Select the Files Menu in the top right corner
     
  3. Hover over the Add new service option and select SMB file share

    Hover over Add new service and select SMB file share option
     
  4. In the File share URL textbox, fill in the following information
    1. For the V: Drive use the following text //fileserver.mps.k12.mi.us/home/personnel/YOUR USERNAME [put in your username in place of YOUR USERNAME]
    2. For the U: Drive use the following text //fileserver.mps.k12.mi.us/groups
  5. In the Display name (optional), fill in a name that makes sense to you (examples would be V: Drive or U: Drive)
  6. In the Username and Password textboxes, fill in your current user and password
  7. Select the Add button at the bottom of the window
