How to print from an Android tablet or smartphone

These directions will work on any MPS owned Android tablets, personal Android device that have the work profile configured.

 

  1. From the Android Google Play Store, download the Papercut Mobility App.

Note: If installing on a personal Android device, make sure to install the app from the Play Store in the Work Profile environment of your device.  The Play Store icon will have a blue briefcase picture on the Play Store app icon.

  1. Open the Mobility App.
     
  2. Select the box "Tap here and check the Mobility Print Service is on".

  3. Confirm the Mobility Print and Default Print Service options are both set to On. If either are set to Off, toggle the setting to On.

Note, if installing on a personal device, These settings must be verified and set in the Work Profile as indicated by the Work drop down menu shown in the screenshot below.

  1. Close Settings and navigate to an item or application that you would like to print, such as email, Google Doc, etc.
  2. Select the Print option from the menu of the application you've chosen.
  3. You may be prompted to Use Mobile Print, Select OK.

  4. A Print Preview screen will appear the first time you print and you will need to select the printer. Select the drop-down to bring up a short list of printers and if you don't see the printer that you want, select the All printers... option at the bottom of the list

  5. Select the Black&WhitePrintJobs or the ColorPrintJobs Printers (whichever you choose will be remembered next time you print)

  6. Select the Print icon on the right side of the screen

  7. You will receive a push notification "Your job needs authentication". Select the push notification and you will be taken to a Papercut login screen.  You can either type in your user/password or you can select the Sign in with Google button.  This authentication will be remembered on this device for 30 days.  Every 30 days, when printing from this device, you will see this push notification which you will need to select and log in.

Note, You may need to rotate the device to portrait (vertical orientation) to see the full Sign in to print screen and fields.

  1. You will get another push notification indicating that your job has been successfully printed and you then need to go to the printer to release the job.
