PlaySignage - Playlist using Google Slides

Google Slides

Create a new Google Slides file and name it.
Put something on the first slide or two just for testing. The whole slide show does not need to be complete for testing purposes.
Click File -> Share -> Publish to the web
Click Publish. DO NOT change any of the "Published content and settings" options, namely the "Restrict access" option as this will cause the signage screen to display a Google sign in page.

PlaySignage

  • Login to Playsignage Click Here
  • Click on Playlists
  • Click + Create playlist
  • Enter a Playlist Name (Please put your buildings 3 letter abbreviation in the beginning as this is shared space with the whole district and this will make it easy to identify playlists for your building)
  • Select 16:9
  • Click Create
  • Find the Playlist and click Edit playlist
  • In the bottom left corner there is Slide 1, click on the pencil edit button.
  • Change the Slide duration from the default 10 seconds to 15 minutes. (This does not configure Google Slides slide advancement. It tells PlaySignage to refresh the Google Slide presentation every 15 minutes to pick up any changes that may have been made to the slides.)
  • Click Save
  • At the top of the screen there is a button for Website. Click on that and it will add the object to Slide 1.
  • On the right side find the Website option and replace what is in there with the Finished URL that you created earlier.
  • On the right side find the alignment section and click the diverging arrows (a classic "fullscreen" icon) to fill the slide

You should be all set now. You can now click on the Preview button in the top right corner to view what it will look like.
